I nearly quit acting – Fella Makafui speaks on the difficulty of balancing her career with family and business

Ghanaian actress Fella Makafui has revealed that she almost quit acting three years ago due to the difficulty of balancing her career with family, business and other responsibilities.
Fella Makafui, 27, who has starred in several popular Ghanaian movies, including the YOLO Tv Series disclosed that she was on the verge of giving up due to the long hours required on set just to focus on her business.
“I think that it is one of the most difficult aspect of this job, at a point like 3 years ago, I almost gave up on acting because I couldn’t balance it,” she revealed

The actress who wears several hats as a serial entrepreneur, brand influencer and other tags said all her other enterprises were making great dividends hence she was tempted to put down acting permanently.
“For the fact that I have to be on set, close as late as 11, 12, I’m like nah I don’t think this will really work and I was so much into my business because it was really picking up and making money so I was like okay if this one is giving me money let me focus on this one,” she said.
However, Makafui’s husband, Medikal with whom she shares a daughter convinced her to give acting another chance.
“But ever since I got back it’s been okay. It was my husband who convinced me to get back,” said the award-winning actress “He said you should not give up on this and he is very understanding. We have a chef, we have a cleaner, we have people who helping us, we are managing because this is the life I chose to live.”
Makafui said that since returning to acting, things have been going well for her. According to her she is still learning to balance her acting career with her business and has found ways to make it work.
Fella Makafui is currently on a media tour promoting her self-produced media tour which premieres on May, 26th, 2023 at the Silverbird Cinemas.

Lasmid leaves Highly Spiritual Music – Kaywa confirms

‘Friday Night’ hitmaker Lasmid, has taken a bow from Highly Spiritual Music record label.
The exit was confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of the label Kaywa during a brief discussion on Adom TV’s ShowTym with Andy Dosty on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
He hinted that some internal issues fueled the decision, and despite the back and forth conversations they had, Lasmid’s mind was made up.

“The conversation with Lasmid has been a back and forth but it was way before VGMA. He started trumpeting ‘I want to go, I want to go’ a long time ago. There is a back story but I wouldn’t wanna make it public,” he said.
Kawya, however, assured fans that at the right time, the entire truth would be spilled to bring clarity to the whole messy saga.
After four years, Lasmid is the second artiste to part ways with the label in a span of few weeks.
His decision comes shortly after colleague Mr Drew took his exit after the end of his contract to explore new opportunities.
The record label started in 2017 with big names including Kurl Songs, Yaw Berk, Krymi and King Maaga, all have since exited.
