Neither Stonebwoy nor Shatta Wale has signed contracts to use Stadium- National Sports Authority

The Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter Twumasi has stated that neither Stonebwoy nor Shatta Wale has booked the Accra Sports Stadium for their impending concerts.
In an interview with GhanaWeb on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Prof. Twumasi revealed that neither of the two parties have signed an official contract for the use of the stadium.
According to him, both parties are still in the process of getting the contract.

“If the sports authority is helping them and they are creating problems for me? The two of them, none of them has a contract with us [National Sports Authority]. We are just helping to support their industry. We are yet to sign a contract, so don’t bother too much. For now, they are going through the process of getting the contract with the NSA, it’s not even done yet,” he said.
“If you write a letter and request for a space then we will look at it and see whether we can offer you or not but we don’t have authority over what we can offer and what we cannot. We are thinking that stadium is a multi-purpose in use and over the years we have been accommodating them [artistes] bit by bit so it shouldn’t create any controversies unless they are just using it to promote their shows,” he added.
Shatta Wale took to a Facebook live on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 to express his disappointment at Stonebwoy for scheduling his annual concert on the same day as his “Freedom Wave Festival” at the same venue.
Shatta Wale and Medikal had announced a five-day festival, the “Freedom Wave Festival” from the 20th-25th December at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Days later after their announcement, Stonebwoy also announced his annual end of the year concert on the 22nd of December at the same venue.

Shatta Wale threatens to slap Stonebwoy over Accra Sports Stadium show

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have rekindled their rivalry in a drama that has gotten heated on social media.
During a Facebook live yesterday, angry Shatta Wale called out Stonebwoy for scheduling his concert on December 22, 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium. According to Shatta Wale, the date conflicts with his Freedom Wave Festival at the same venue.
Shatta Wale intends to host his show on 25th December and it becomes a clash because according to technical reports, the venue requires 3 days for it to be set up for a show. Hence, Bhim Concert on 22nd December will not make it impossible to Shatta Wale’s show on 25th December.

Dragging the President’s daughter into the conflict, Shatta Wale alleges that Gyankroma is responsible for assisting Stonebwoy in booking the said date for the Bhim Concert at the stadium this year.
According to Shatta Wale, he has been told to cancel his show at the Accra Sports Stadium to allow Stonebwoy to go ahead with his Bhim Concert. In the video below, Shatta Wale descended heavily on the President’s with unprintable words.
In other excerpts of the Facebook live session by Shatta Wale, he also threatened to slap Stonebwoy.
“Stonebwoy don’t let us meet eye to eye, If you see me and try to smile at me, I’ll slap you because after you brandished the gun you were not advised enough,” he said.

Speaking in a candid interview with Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, on Afrobeats Podcast, the ‘Bad Influence’ singer detailed that, “It was a jump; at first, I struggled, and it put me in a bad mental state because I was still trying to learn my ways. However, with time, I got more comfortable and learned that I’m running my race and that I should move at my own pace.”

He continued by saying, “There was pressure. You don’t expect to move from one crappy laptop or spending all your life in the studio to being a global superstar. It’s just like they brought you from just starting music production to this right here (points at equipment in the studio0; ‘You go lost’.”
The renowned artist further asserted that he has no issues talking about his vulnerabilities in public, stressing that his songs are all about his life experiences.
