Samini has had a positive impact on my career – Foster Romanus

Comedian, Foster Amponsah, popularly known by his stage name as Foster Romanus, has credited reggae and dancehall act Samini with immensely impacting his life as a standup comedian.

According to Foster, Samini played a vital role in his development as a stage performer and comedian. He told Joy News’ Becky, Samini’s influence has been positive.

 “As a performer, I will say that I have been really influenced by the brand samini even before going to the university. I used to listen to him. My confidence, my ability to perform as a performer on stage, I learnt a lot from him and most of the times, his songs has ways of getting to me. And him as an individual picks you up anytime he sees you and give me few tips. So yes Samini as a brand and individual has had a positive impact on me and my career.“

Foster  Romanus is a Ghanaian comedian who’s  career path changed when he placed second in a TV reality program ‘Stars of the Future’. Foster had a second thought about his career path and thus dropped his accounting dream to pursue a degree course in Theatre Arts at the University of Ghana.

Foster is one of the few stand-up comedians to have been produced in Ghana and he gained popularity after appearing on Viasat 1’s ‘Laugh a Minute’. Foster has had the opportunity to stage several prime comedy shows including Comedy Fiesta, 1003 Laughs and Music, 1004 Laughs and Music, and 1022 Laughs and Music.

Since his break into the top list of Ghanaian comedians, he has also had the privilege to feature comedy shows by some notables in comedy in Ghana including the DKB Comedy Tour.
