Taylor Swift, SZA, Doja Cat Lead 2023 MTV VMA Nominations

The 2023 Video Music Awards nominee for Midnights tops all other nominees with an astounding eight nods, including the show’s highest prize, Video of the Year, according to MTV’s announcement of the nominations.

Taylor Swift is getting ready to wrap off the American leg of her mammoth Eras Tour in Los Angeles on Wednesday and then move on to overseas dates later this month when the news breaks.

Swift created VMAs history at the previous presentation by becoming the first artist to win Video of the Year three times.

As she claimed her trophy on stage, she used the occasion to shock the audience by releasing Midnights, her tenth studio album.

Other top nominees at this year’s show include SZA (with six); Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sam Smith (with five each); and Blackpink, Diddy, and Shakira (with four each).

The 2023 VMAs will return to celebrate the biggest names in music on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Fans can vote for their favorites by visiting vote.mtv.com through Sept. 1. See the full list of nominees below.
