Mr. Addae Yeboah Joseph, a nutritionist at Sampa Government Hospital in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region has cautioned Ghanaians against the excessive consumption of Energy Drinks which he said can lead to kidney disease, hypertension and other infections.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Addae Yeboah Joseph indicated that though energy Drinks pose a danger to human health but it does not have a higher negative health effect on the Human body but its excessive and continuous intake will extremely affect the body system due to the sugar, caffeine and other substances in it.
Analysing the contents of the Energy Drinks and its corresponding effects on the body, Mr. Addae Yeboah Joseph explained that too much sugar in the human system causes diabetes likewise too much caffeine in the body also contributes to hypertension and diabetes.
He therefore implored the Youths to take some rest when they get tired on their jobs and ensure the consumption of more fruits rather than resorting to energy Drinks to energize their body which can subsequently affect them.
