The Asunafo South District Chief Executive in Ahafo Region has cut the sod to mark the beginning of work on small town water project for Abuom.
The $300,000 Abuom small town water project is funded by Asunafo South District Assembly and Safe WaterNetwork and is expected to be completed in six months time.
Hon. Adusi Poku said improving access to portable water and Safe sanitation is critical to achieving favourable health outcomes, reduction of poverty and economic growth.
He said President Nana Akufo Addo led government want to reduce women’s workload and improve school attendance on time.
The Kontihene of Abuom, Nana Adusi Poku said the project will end water crisis in the community especially during dry season.
He acommended government for the project and promised to name the water facility after the DCE when it is completed.
