The Ashanti Regional Police Ladies Association branch of the Regional Training School have donated sanitary pads to some selected government basic schools.
The selected schools included; Nyankyerenease M/A JHS, Atwima Amanfrom SDA JHS, Wamase M/A JHS and Santase M/A basic school.
Speaking to the media,leader of the association, who also doubles as a classroom instructor at Kumasi Patasi police Depo, Supt. Lydia Acheampong Otuo, confirmed that they distributed over 80 boxes of pads and panty liners to over 770 female students as the total amount of the gift sum up to ¢60,000.
She said, as part of educating female students how to keep themselves clean during their blood flow month, they thought it wise to gift them sanitary pads.
Supt. Otuo therefore advised parents and guardians to consider it as important to buy sanitary pads for their female adolescent children.
She concluded by acknowledging their sponsors for their unflinching support to the association.
Headmistress for the Nyankyerenease M/A JHS, Mrs. Charlotte Adu Nsiah, after receiving the items on behalf of the school thanked the Police Ladies Association for their kind gesture.
She said this gift will in one way or the other will release the pads burden on the school authorities for some period.
Lastly, some of the female student beneficiaries thanked the association for such move.
