The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has asked its customers on what it terms CLOU prepayment Metering System’s server, to buy enough credit to cover January 25 to 26.

This has become necessary because the ECG said it will undertake repair works on the system.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana will undertake emergency maintenance works on the CLOU Prepayment Metering System’s server…All CLOU prepaid customers are therefore being advised to purchase enough credit that will last for the period of the downtime,” a notice to customers.

The ECG said, “The inconvenience caused to affected customers is deeply regretted.”

The announcement comes at a time when customers in various parts of the country have been complaining about erratic power supply which has affected business operations.

Although government officials have denied the return of ‘Dumsor’, the on and off power situation does not seem to have abated.
