The Chief of Gbedembilsi Naab Atirekpere Amalugsi Ignatius is calling on the Ministry of Agriculture and the government to consider putting up storage facilities in the area. According to him, most rice farmers sell their produce at give-away prices because there are no storage facilities. Naab Atirekpere Amalugsi Ignatius III commended the government one district one warehouse policy, and wished that, Gbedembilsi would have gotten one to enhance rice production in the area. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has said it will not hesitate to close down Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) stations operating without recourse to safety guidelines. The Ashanti Regional Director of EPA, Dr. Nyantakyi Adiyiah Jackson said LPG explosion-related deaths were unacceptable, hence the need for the agency to ensure that the guidelines for LPG operations in the country was enforced.
