Gospel musician Ernest Opoku has revealed that despite living at Krofrom in Kumasi the Ashanti Regional Capital where his house became the hideout for the drug dealers, he never tasted drugs as a young man.

The Gospel musicians admitted these drug dealers sometimes hid their drugs in his house and come for them later but he was never in any way influenced to indulge in drugs.

“They used to sell drugs in our house…that was their selling point and sometimes we hid the drugs in our house for them and all that”, Ernest Opoku revealed in an interview with Hello FM in Kumasi.

When asked if he has ever tasted drugs before, he responded that though he lived in one of the most notorious communities noted for the drug trade, he never tasted it.

“I was living at Krofrom Colombia, excuse me to say that, when you talk of that community everybody knows they deal in hard drugs. That is where Ernest Opoku lived but I never used some”. He told Dave Hammer host of the show “Entertainment Review” in his interview.

Ernest Opoku was on the show to promote his latest song which according to him is to celebrate his 20 years in the music industry.

“So I’m thanking God for protecting me from engaging myself in such an act. That is exactly what I’m thanking him for in the show which is yet to happen”, he said.
