Dreams FC General Manager Ameenu Shardow has unveiled plans to rally fans’ support at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi as the team faces Stade Malien in the quarterfinal second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup this Sunday.

The second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Despite the General Manager stating that CAF will not allow free entry for fans, the management has devised a strategy to facilitate fan attendance at the stadium.

Shardow acknowledged that while CAF regulations prohibit free entry, the management is committed to making attendance as affordable as possible. He emphasised the importance of creating a vibrant atmosphere to benefit the team, despite the challenges posed by ticketing regulations.

“A game of this level shouldn’t be free, even regulations at CAF won’t permit us to open free gates but management are going to make it as affordable as possible, and we are going to deploy other means to ensure that we get many people as possible to go to the stadium to generate the kind of atmosphere that will be to our benefit,” he stated.

Dreams FC have defied expectations in their debut CAF Confederation Cup campaign, securing qualification to the knockout stages and recently overcoming former champions Stade Malien. Shardow expressed confidence in the team’s strategy, especially after securing a lead and two away goals in the first leg.

Ameenu Shardow shed light on the team’s plan after the draw, the club’s General Manager revealed how they planned on getting a good result in the first leg. Going into the second with a lead and two away goals the plan looks in line to succeed.

“When the draw was made, our plan was to ensure that by the time we play the second leg we have put ourselves in a very strong position to qualify to the next stage of the competition and I think by a large extent we have achieved that by giving ourselves a very good advantage,” he added.

Coach Karim Zito received praise for his remarkable performance, with Shardow commending Zito’s credentials and the results his coaching has delivered.

“He has done so well, his work is speaking for himself for me I always believe that whatever they say about you just let the work do the talking and he is the perfect example of the work doing the talking for him, his credentials are there for all to see,” he further added.

As Dreams FC gears up for Sunday’s crucial match, Shardow emphasized the importance of delivering a strong performance to keep their hopes alive in the quest for the trophy, which has eluded Ghana since 2004.
